Ducks vs SJS 9.27.22 preview

The Ducks are back in preseason action tonight, taking on the San Jose Sharks at SAP Center.

Anaheim kicked off its exhibition schedule Sunday with a
3-2 victory over the Arizona Coyotes
in Tucson. Rocco Grimaldi, who is again in the Ducks' projected lineup tonight, and Isac Lundestrom led the way offensively with three points apiece while netminder Lukas Dostal turned in a strong goaltending performance with 24 saves.
Anaheim's lineup again includes several young prospects, offering those players a critical opportunity to impress coaches and management in an official game setting.
Max Jones will also appear in his second consecutive preseason game while he
works to return to from last season's pectoral injury
.
Head coach Dallas Eakins said while he already has a developing idea of what his potential line combos and defensive pairings will be, it's too early to put those in place, instead choosing to focus on creating a positive atmopshere for younger players and putting them in a position to succeed.
Like Anaheim, San Jose earned a 3-2 win its preseason opener, knocking off the Los Angeles Kings in overtime. Timo Meier and Tomas Hertl each posted a two-point performance while Kaapo Kahkonen made 43 saves. Captain Logan Couture scored the game-winning goal 3:33 into overtime.
The Ducks and Sharks will meet again on Friday at Honda Center.
