On his third-period goal
I just tried to get it on net. Obviously it snuck through, but he probably wants that one back. I'm not complaining.
On Gibson's performance
He had a great game. He's at the top of his game right now in terms of giving us a chance to win every night. He's done a good job of shutting down their opportunities.
On the three-game win streak
We've got a couple big games left on this trip, but we're getting there. We're starting to put our game together. Hopefully we continue that.
On the victory
I thought it was huge for our team. As a group, and as a coaching staff, we preach the first game of a road trip. It helps set the tone. We came out ready to play. We were kinda on our heels a little bit in the third period. Credit them for a good push, but we were able to hang on. It's a good start for us.
On his play leading to Silfverberg's goal
It was a regroup in the neutral zone. Sami [Vatanen] went d-to-d back to me. I'm not sure if they were on a change, but I had a little bit of room to skate. Sometimes when I get a full head of steam, it's a little easier to pick my way through the neutral zone. I was thinking about shooting it, but I saw Silvy on his off-side. He has one of the greatest shots in the league, and he made an unbelievable shot to put it right under the bar. That was a big goal for us.
On surpassing Chris Kunitz (192) for sole possession of 10th on the franchise's all-time scoring list
As it's been well-documented, I've been trying to contribute more offensively this year. I feel like there's more to that side of the game that I can bring. That comes with playing with great teammates. It's nice to be mentioned in the top-10, but hopefully I have quite a few more games to build on that and improve as a player.
On games within the division
Games in our own division have a little more meaning. You'd like to have the same mindset throughout 82 games, but division games are the ones you circle on the calendar, especially on the road.
