On tonight’s game
It’s not worth anything, but at the end of the day, this is the time when you start feeling good about your game. Right now, we’re a little in between. We had some good zone pressure, hit a couple of posts, but the breakdowns are pretty significant.
On having six days between games
Once you start cutting down your roster, you start feeling more comfortable with the guys in the room. We’re still a little in between. This is the time to fix things when things aren’t going well.
On his game tonight
I played pretty good today, much better than the last game in LA. I was horrible there. It’s been up and down, but I’m happy that I performed well tonight.
On his time during training camp
I want to make the team, and hopefully I’m giving them something to think about. Hopefully I’ll stay here.

On the positives from tonight’s game
After one of his non-stellar games last night, Sami Vatanen bounced back and played a good game. After that second goal, Freddie [Andersen] really got into the game and played really well. I thought Emerson Etem and William Karlsson were pretty good.
On the focus heading into the final preseason game
We want to work on everything. It’s no secret that we had two 5-on-3s. We need to focus on getting a lot better. We’ll focus on [special teams] plus the rest of the systems work. We’ll be ready.
