Patrick MaroonOn getting an extended look on the power play
It’s an honor to be on the power play. It’s a good thing, but you have to work on it and be strong. You have to make crisp plays and do the right things to make the power play successful.
On his performance
I just have to stay with my game and keep playing my game; that’s going to the net, playing hard and attacking the puck. I’m not the fastest guy, so they’re not really looking for that. They’re looking for me to win my battles, and be strong and physical. I just have to keep making an impression. I have to play better. I have to keep pushing myself to get ready for the first [regular season] game.Stefan NoesenOn his power-play goal
[Nick] Ritchie went for a shot and he broke his stick. I drove to the net, it hit off [Jonathan Quick’s] pad, I took a swing at it and it went in.On his style
Speed isn’t a huge part of my game. It’s more North-South hockey, getting pucks down low, protecting it and using my frame. It felt good to get a goal. I feel good. There are still some preseason games left and we also have San Diego camp, but you’re starting to get your legs back into it. It’s not summer hockey anymore. It’s definitely NHL hockey.Head Coach Bruce BoudreauOn the power play
We struggled, for sure, but LA is a great penalty-killing team. We haven’t had a chance to really practice it live against other teams, but we have great footage for video to show the guys what we have to do. We’ve got to get better. If we’re going to win games, we need the power play to be clicking. On Noesen’s goal
Nick [Ritchie] made a really nice play. When you’re standing in front of the net – both our goals came from guys standing right in front of the net – that’s where you’re going to score in this league. That’s got to happen more often.LOS ANGELES KINGS
Dustin BrownOn new players in the lineup
You have lots of guys playing with different players, trying to figure it out, which is something we haven’t really had in the past few years.Trevor LewisOn the Kings’ penalty kill
I think we did some good work up ice. We created a lot of turnovers and that killed a lot of the penalties. There is still some stuff we need to clean up at the blue line and such, but for a lot of guys, it’s their first or second game. We just need to keep working on it.On his goal
It was a great pass from Tanner. It was kind of a no-look backdoor pass. He helped me out on that one. I had a lot of chances and my legs felt good, so we’ve just got to keep going.Head Coach Daryl SutterThoughts on the game
It was a close game. It was a 2-1 game. Score one goal on the road, you won’t win very often.
