On tonight’s game
It’s a question of making sure we’re ready for game time. That’s twice in the past three games. Everybody has to be ready right off the bat. We have to make sure we’re prepared to play 60 minutes every night.

On the lack of scoring
It was a tough night, offensively, for everybody. We didn’t create much. We struggled offensively for the first two periods. That’s what cost us the game.

On tomorrow’s game at Dallas

We know how Dallas plays at home. They’re a tough team to play against. As long as we play a full 60 minutes, we’ll be fine.

Head coach Bruce Boudreau
On tonight’s game
They were a hungry team tonight. We talked about it before the game. When teams are down some of their best players, short term, they dig deeper and play as hard as they can. If we’re not ready to meet their work ethic, we’re not going to have success. They just worked harder than us.

On positives from tonight’s game

I thought the fourth line [Emerson Etem-Rickard Rakell-Tim Jackman] had the puck in the zone. They worked and did what they were supposed to do. They cycled the puck. The other guys were too cute, and our giveaways were immense out there. Unforced errors bug you, and we had way too many of them. We’ll just go back to the drawing board and see what we can dig up for tomorrow.
