John Gibson
On the challenge of facing the Blackhawks
We knew they had a good team, and we knew they were going to come in the third period, but [our] team played really well. They had a lot of blocked shots, which helped me out.

On what has changed since his season-opening debut on October 9
I just tried to simplify my game, do the little things and get back to the way I play.

Devante Smith-Pelly
On his game-winning shorthanded goal
I know [Darling’s] a big goalie, so I tried to get him moving side to side. I’m just happy it squeaked through.

On Gibson’s performance
He was great. When they starting putting the pressure on, he was his usual calm, cool self. He saved us at times.

On shutting out the Blackhawks
They’re obviously a top team. Coming off that loss on Sunday [vs. San Jose], we wanted to redeem ourselves. There is no better team to do that against than the Blackhawks. We played well. Hopefully we can keep it going.

Head coach Bruce Boudreau
On the Blackhawks
They’re so good and they can make something out of nothing so fast, that if you don’t hit them and slow them down, then they’re going to just skate. There are a lot of fast teams in the NHL, but this is the team that plays the fastest. That’s why they have the most success I think.

Brent Seabrook
On the Ducks
They played a good game. They’ve got a good goaltender in there and we have to create some chances. I thought we played great tonight. It was a tough play and we can’t give that up against good teams that play good defense. That’s part of it…We have to learn to win these games. These are the games we want to be playing later in the season and in the playoffs, the tight 2-1, 1-0 games and you have to learn how to play these games and win in these games. We’re not going to blow anybody out this year. We have the players that can do it, but teams are getting a lot better. Goaltenders are playing well, they’re playing defensive systems with good defensemen.

Head coach Joel Quenneville
On tonight's game
You have stretches sometimes maybe when things are not going in for us, but we played the right way. Gave up probably the fewest chances all year. It was a tight game…we played well in a lot of areas. In the second period, we had some great chances all alone. He made a couple of big stops in the third. Whoever scored first, the way it was going, was in a pretty good spot.
