On the game
We finally got some shots on net. We need shots to get goals. We still need to put it behind the goalie. We know how we should play, and we need to stick to the game plan. We need to stick with how the coaches want us to play. If we do that, we’re going to be successful. It’s early in the season. This is going to come around.

On Andersen’s performance
He’s always been good for us. You almost take it for granted, the saves he makes. As a defenseman, you just feel safe out there. If you lose your guy for a quick moment, he’ll be there for you.

Head Coach Bruce Boudreau
On if this was the level of engagement he wanted to see from the team
If it becomes consistent, absolutely. It was the best game we played all year. We didn’t get the end result we wanted, but that’s the way we can play. We have to build on that now, and not get disappointed.

On scoring chances
They’re getting the chances. I don’t think the offensive confidence is there. We had a ton of chances tonight. It was the most chances we’ve had.

On the defensive effort
I liked the way we played above the blueline tonight. We were good in the neutral zone and didn’t allow them to have a lot of speed, which is where they build up speed. That’s probably why they had as few shots as they did.

On the message
It can’t end. We can’t just be a one-and-done group. We have to do the same thing tomorrow. This is where your conditioning comes in. Hopefully we’re up to the task.
