Ryan Kesler

On tonight’s game
You want to get points, but we don’t go into games hoping we get one. We want two. Just a couple of unlucky breaks tonight. It’s going to happen over the course of 82 games. I thought we battled hard and competed. They had a push in the first period, we absorbed it, and pushed back. We played well, but not well enough to win.

On giving up the lead

Having them down 2-1 going into the third period on the road, you take that every night. We need to learn how to play with a one-goal lead. There’s no panic in this room. We’re playing well. We’re just not getting the two points right now. Things are going to turn around for us.

Frederik Andersen
On the overtime goal
I think [Stoll] tried to put it in front and it hit something and squeaked through my legs. It’s a bad bounce. Unfortunately, we couldn’t get it done.

On the positives of getting points
We’ll take one point over zero, for sure, but we feel like we’ve had a chance to win every night. It sucks when you don’t get the two points.

Ryan Getzlaf
On getting points
We’re battling through a lot of injuries. We have some big guys out of the lineup. When we manage to get points every night, it’s a positive. Do we want two points? Yes, but we’re getting points and moving forward.

Head coach Bruce Boudreau
On tonight’s game
I thought we had better scoring chances. I thought we outplayed them five-on-five, but what are you going to do? That happens. We’ll just reload and come back next game.

On getting points
If you look at our lineup and we’re getting points at Staples Center with what we have, the guys stepped up. You’re still missing players you wouldn’t like to be missing on a full-time basis.

Jarret Stoll

On the game
We came out and did a lot of things. We’ve been spending a lot of time in the defensive zone. Today, we came out and we were physical and we were getting pucks in deep. There were points where we needed to be a little better, but Quick came up big when we needed him to. Some big penalty kills and a big power play goal in the third. I think everyone can attest to how well they move the puck around and basically almost two minutes in their zone and we came up with a big goal.

On his overtime goal
It feels great. It’s been a while. I’m trying hard but it feels great to get that goal.

Tyler Toffoli
On his goal
It was a good battle in the corner and Stoll was yelling at me in the middle there. I just gave him a little chip and he gave it right back and we had a nice two-on-one.

On earning points
In any division game it’s huge. I think we needed to come back and have a big effort. Unfortunately they got one tonight but we got the extra one and that’s what matters.

Head coach Darryl Sutter
On the win
Every win is nice, every game is its own season.  We played just as well last game as we did tonight.

On the difference between the two games vs. Anaheim
One was a shootout game and one was an overtime game, so it tells you how close they are.
