Anaheim Ducks

Ryan Kesler
On the game
We let our foot off the gas pedal a little bit. They have a lot of pride over there and almost tied it. We showed great character in those final 10 minutes to hold off their pressure to get the win.

On Getzlaf's milestone
We all congratulated him. We're all happy for him. He's been a great player for this franchise for a long time, and we're happy he's with us.

Ryan Getzlaf
On surpassing Teemu Selanne to become the franchise's all-time leader in assists
Teemu is such a friend and mentor to all of us. It's a big thing. I don't know if it would've meant as much passing certain guys, but I played with 'T' so long, and I have a lot of respect for him.

On the shutdown line's production
They've been great. They've been doing it for the past couple of years. That's the one benefit of having that depth. They go out and do their job properly almost every night. When they chip in with offense, that's big.

Ducks Head Coach Randy Carlyle
On the game
The ice started to tilt in their favor. You have to give them credit. They came with a pretty big charge. We stopped playing and that led to them gaining momentum. Our goaltender was there and made some big stops. The penalty kill delivered in a critical situation in the end. Your bet penalty killer is usually your goaltender.

On Getzlaf's milestone
It's nice to see him get the accolades. He's our captain. It's a feel-good story all around. We won a hockey game, closed out a win and have gone three of four.

On Silfverberg's four-point night
He could've had a hat trick, but he missed an empty net from about a foot-and-a-half. WE use that line quite a bit. They're depended upon to check and provide offense. They're one of the top checking lines in the league, but can still make a contribution on the offensive side of it.

Carolina Hurricanes

Jeff Skinner
On the game
We'd like to get that sense of urgency and push from the start of the game, but that's something we need to work on. We were getting pucks and bodies to the inside and generating offense from the inside. Any time you can do that and sustain offensive-zone time, you're going to get opportunities. It was just a matter of putting one more in there.

On the second period
They're a good team. We needed to generate zone time. In order to do that, you need to get in there and get pucks back. We weren't doing that. There were too many one-and-done plays. When we use our speed and can play a quick transition game like that, that's when we're at our best.

Teuvo Teravainen
On the push in the third period
We were going to the net. My goal was just about going to the net and it hit my stick and it goes in. You need some ugly ones to get going. We almost tied it. Good try, but not enough.

On the urgency to gain points
We know we need some wins. We have to battle harder. We had a good first period, but at the end of the second period they got the lead. We have to be more careful.
