ANAHEIM DUCKS

Ryan Getzlaf

On the series
There are certain things we need to do better. We’re out there working hard, trying to make things happen. We’re trying to do things. It gets frustrating at times. There are a couple of structure things I feel we’re not doing on a consistent basis throughout the whole game, whether things get chippy or not.

On the Predators
They’re playing hard and getting the puck in. At times, we’re getting caught from behind. We’re not getting in on the forecheck that much. Pekka Rinne is playing good. He’s moving the puck for them. We’re going to have to go in there and do things a little differently. We’ve been doing things the hard way all season long.

Nate Thompson

On the series deficit
We’re dealt that hand, and we have to deal with it. We have to go into their barn and win the next one.

On the Predators

They’ve played two pretty strong games. They’ve capitalized on their chances. They’ve done a lot of little good things against us. They deserve the two games. Now we have to go and earn the next one.

Head Coach Bruce Boudreau
On the game
Too many penalties, for sure. We were just stupid out there. As far as the [Craig] Smith goal, we could’ve played tighter. Our right winger could’ve come in and taken him. That’s his job. The [Shea] Weber goal, I thought we showed a lot of courage getting in front of it four times before they scored. They still tried to get in front of him, but just missed. It was a good screen.

On facing adversity
The one thing about this team is its resiliency. We’ve gone through some really tough times this year. This is no different. It was just two years ago when we lost the first two games at home against LA and went in there and won two. It’s not an impossible thing to do.

NASHVILLE PREDATORS

Shea Weber

On the Ducks physicality
They are a physical team. They like to play physical. They’ve got some size over there. We’re just trying to stay within out game here and not deviate from our system.

On the Predators goals
Ekkie’s [Mattias Ekholm] was big. We got better as the period went on. That helped us keep it even. Pekks [Pekka Rinne] made some huge saves. We got one on the powerplay and now we just need to keep working.

Mattias Ekholm

On the first two games
We played a heck of a road game. It’s not always pretty, but we’re always battling hard. We always try to be on the right side and do the right things. It was a great effort by everyone tonight. They’re a hard team. They came out hard. They’re physical and fast, but we managed.

On the Ducks' physicality
We kept calm through the whole game and didn’t give them much. There was a scrum after almost every whistle, but we stayed calm. We didn’t try to hit them back. It’s a part of the game, but we managed it well and we need to keep doing that.

Ryan Johansen
On beating the Ducks in Anaheim
It’s huge. That was our mindset. It’s very challenging. We’re going against a great hockey team. We believe in ourselves. We feel like we executed our game plan well and that’s why we’re leaving with two wins. We have a great hockey team with great players. We feel comfortable and confident in our game.

Head Coach Peter Laviolette

On the game
Winning games isn’t easy. At home [or] on the road. It’s playoff hockey. Anaheim is a really good team. They played well tonight. I thought our guys played hard as well and we were able to walk away with a couple of wins. We have to put it behind us and move forward, see if there’s things we can get better at out here. They finished where they finished for a reason. They’re a good hockey club.

On the series
We know there’s a lot of work to do. It doesn’t mean anything if you don’t finish it and follow it up. We have to keep working, keep an eye on what we’re doing here and just keep moving forward.
