On finding ways to win
Giving up a three-goal lead wasn’t exactly what we wanted to do, but they pressed hard. That 5-on-3 was big for them. But we got it done. We got it done on the road and that’s what we needed to do.

On his game-winning goal
It was just good, hard work by Getz [Ryan Getzlaf] and Palmy [Kyle Palmieri]. Getz made a great pass, like he always does, and I just fired it on net.

On if the team ever thinks it’s out of a hockey game
No. I don’t think we ever think that. There is no quit in there. That’s a huge part of our character.

On responding in Corey Perry’s absence
We responded well. We got a big goal after that. Hopefully he’s all right.

Tim Jackman
On the mood after giving up four answered goals
When they scored to make it 4-3, it wasn’t a great feeling on the bench, but we looked at our leader, Getzlaf, and he’s always calm. He said we’d get the next one. He does such a great job leading us. We just jump on board and try to follow him.

On his game-tying goal
[Ryan] Kesler made a great breakout play out of our end and I just tried shooting it on net. The puck came to me and I was able to sneak it in. I asked Getzlaf, Did that really go in? I didn’t get all of it, but it went in. It was good.

On having family and friends in attendance
That’s the first time I ever scored in this building. I always have family here. This is where I’ve lived for the last 20-something years. It was nice to score one here.

On spending time on the top-two lines
It was a lot of fun playing with Getzlaf and Kesler. I told Perry to get well soon because I don’t know if I can play that many minutes. [Laughs]. It’s always fun when the coach has confidence and trust in you that you’re going to do the right things. It gives me confidence.
