Corey Perry

On the game
It wasn’t very good. Everybody in here knows it. That’s not the way we want to finish out the season at home. We have one more game to get ready. It has to be our best game, and it has to be what we’re going to do in the playoffs.

On knowing what was at stake

We’ve been talking about it for a while. We knew where we were at and what we had to do. It’s very frustrating what we did tonight. You have to be ready each and every night.

Matt Beleskey
On the result
That’s a bad game for our fans, but you have to forget about it and move on. Rather have it now than in a week. I didn’t think we played that bad in the first period, but we didn’t have a lot of emotion. It carried over into the second. We just chipped it out and let them come at us.

On the emotion level
Some nights you have to get yourself going. You have to come to work. It’s our job. We have to be better and play our game. We have to perform better than we did tonight, that’s for sure. We just weren’t there tonight.

Head Coach Bruce Boudreau
On the loss
It didn’t seem like we had any energy or life. I wish I had an answer to why we were that bad after five days of rest.

On if there was a lack of emotion
We should be able to create our own emotion. We’re at home and we’re playing in front of our own fans. We lost the last game at home. There should be some sense of urgency, but there wasn’t.

Jamie Benn

On the game
I thought our team played great. We took care of our defensive zone. Our goalie played great and look what happens, you get a win.

On the second period
I thought the Fiddler line got us a pretty big goal there. I thought we had some pretty sharp power plays and we just kind of slowly took over the game.

Jhonas Enroth
On the shutout
It was great. I think the whole team played pretty well in front of me. I don’t want to say it was an easy game, but my teammates made it pretty easy for me tonight. It’s a little bit more special to get the first shutout as a Star. It’s definitely something to remember.

On the team not qualifying for the playoffs

I’ve only been here for two months or so, and it’s too bad that we can’t play like that pretty much every night. That’s hockey and you have to be consistent in this league to make the playoffs.

Head Coach Lindy Ruff
On the team playing well but not making the playoffs
We had enough misfortune in the middle part of the season that we gave some points away. There were other teams that were playing equally as well. When you look at what Calgary and Winnipeg were doing, they were matching us point-wise and we weren’t making up any ground. We had a home game against Calgary that we dominated, and didn’t win. It’s probably the two biggest points we lost down the stretch. The game was lopsided but we didn’t win it.

On the team’s success on the road
I think we’ve played better defensively on the road. I think we’ve had a flair for some offensive passion at home, which just hurt us in some situations. On the road we’ve been able to keep the game a little simpler. I thought tonight we really skated really well again, skated really well, moved the puck really well. They were a step behind trying to catch up to us.
