POSTGAME NOTES
Dallas 1 vs. Anaheim 3
March 1, 2015
American Airlines Center
40-17-7, 87 Standings Points

At 40-17-7 (87 points), the Ducks moved within two points of the idle Predators (41-15-7, 89 points) for first place in the NHL standings. Nashville, however, holds one game in hand and owns the ROW tiebreaker (NSH: 35, ANA: 32).

John Gibson made a career-high 39 saves, including 16 in the second period, to power the Ducks to their fifth victory in their past six outings.

Gibson improved to 5-1-0 in his past six appearances. Overall, he is 8-5-0 with a 2.51 goals-against average, .920 save percentage and one shutout this season (14 GP).

Clayton Stoner snapped a 57-game drought with his first goal since March 18, 2014 at NYI. It stood as the second game-winning goal of Stoner’s career (other Jan. 4, 2011 at NJD – w/ MIN).

Ryan Getzlaf (1-1=2) reached the 20-goal milestone for the fifth time in his 10 NHL seasons. He has 203-466=669 points in his career (694 GP), tying Paul Kariya (300-369=669 points in 606 GP) for second place in Ducks history.

Corey Perry added 1-1=2 points for his second straight multi-point performance (also Feb. 27 vs. LAK: 2-0=2). He leads the team and shares ninth in the NHL with 27 goals this season.

POSTGAME QUOTES

Ryan Getzlaf
On the game
The one thing we are is comfortable in one-goal games. They came on strong. I have to give them credit. They came out really hard in the second period. I don’t think we handled it the way we wanted to, but we got the job done.

On the difference between this season’s roster and last season’s roster
We have a little bit more depth now. The playoffs are experience, and you can’t get that unless you’re there. We had a lot of young guys who got great experience over the last couple of years. This year, we feel ready.

On the addition of Ryan Kesler and Nate Thompson
Kesler and Thompson have come on strong. Thompson is doing a great job on our penalty kill, and taking some pressure and minutes off of me. Kes has been an all-around player for us. Those are big things when you’re talking about our lineup.
