Postgame Quotes
Anaheim Ducks
Antoine Vermette
On skating alongside Getzlaf and Rakell
It's a lot of fun. They're great players. They make a lot of room. They're patient with the puck and they find ways to get the puck and slow things down. I thought we read off each other pretty well filling lanes and making plays. It was a good night.
On his three-point performance
At the end of the day, you just want to contribute to the team's success regardless of where you play. You just want to chip in and have an impact. You want to keep grabbing points. We needed those points. We had to push all the way through 60 minutes to get it. It's rewarding.
Cam Fowler
On his goal
It's a prime scoring area. I felt like last game I had some good chances and I didn't feel like I made the most out of them. I kind of gave them away and quickly got them on net instead of trying to bear down. I focused on bearing down tonight. I was happy to see it go in.
On the team responding with three goals in the third period
It was a sloppy second period for us. I'm not sure what's going on with the second period lately, but it seems to be our Achilles heel at the moment. We were able to get back to our style of hockey in the third. I really liked our response. The one thing I liked is once we got a goal to make it 3-2, we didn't sit back. We kept pushing and kept our foot on the gas. That's what you have to do.
Head Coach Randy Carlyle
On the line combinations
We were just trying to find balance in our lineup and trying to put people in places they could be comfortable with and give them an opportunity to have success. We're a work in progress. We haven't had our team together for more than four or five games now.
On having Patrick Eaves in attendance
It's always good to see a teammate. He's definitely part of our group and we haven't forgotten about him. We're going to let him and his family take their time. They need to do what they need to do and what's best for him going forward in his life.

On the Ducks breaking the tie late
I thought we played a good game until then, I think we just kind of got away from it. They were able to put one in our net and then obviously the empty net goal, but I think it was a lot closer than what the score said. I thought we played well, but when it came down to it, I don't think we beared down hard enough.
On the two power-play goals
I think [Perlini] had a great shot there, I mean that is how you score goals in this league. Guys crashing the net, and shots from anywhere, and that was a good shot by him. I think when you're shooting the puck and going to the net, good things happen.
Brendan Perlini
On the Ducks breaking the tie late
We fought back and got back in the game. It was a tie game and I can't really comment on the last goal, I didn't really see it because I was coming back to the bench. It was a good effort by the guys anyway, and the score line doesn't really justify how we played. It's one of those things where you keep working hard and hopefully you can improve off of this.
On the mindset going into the third period
We were in the game, so any way that we can get a goal would obviously be great and trying to get back into it. We were all up for it and nobody was down or anything like that, so like I said we were in the game, but unfortunately we ended up losing it in the end.
Head Coach Rick Tocchet
On the game
We played a good game today. I'm happy of their effort. We had a couple breakdowns and some crucial mistakes at the wrong time and it was in our net and that seems to be the story of our team. We had about five or six chances where we missed the net, and Fowler gets one chance and boom, it's in our net. That's kind of the theme of our season right now where it's a tie game and all of a sudden one bad mistake is in our net.
On the energy in the second period
We had a lot of energy from a lot of guys. A lot of backtracking, we backtracked really hard, got the puck, shot pucks at the net, funneled pucks. We did all the stuff we wanted to do. I thought we should've gotten where we wanted a little bit more but we didn't and like I said, a couple guys got quick sticked and they got the puck and then it was in our net.
