The NHL has named Ducks RW Corey Perry as the NHL’s First Star for the Month of October (Player of the Month). This marks the sixth time in franchise history that a Ducks player has won the award (three different players). Perry was also the last Duck to do so (March, 2011). The complete list:

DUCKS TO WIN NHL PLAYER OF THE MONTH (FIRST STAR)
Paul Kariya - April, 1996
Paul Kariya - January, 1998
Teemu Selanne - February, 1999
Teemu Selanne - November, 2006
Corey Perry - March, 2011
Corey Perry - October, 2014

Perry led the NHL in goals (10) in October (now has 11 goals in 13 games). His 10 markers in the first 12 games of the season tied the franchise record for most goals to start a season (Kariya, 1995-96; 10 goals in first 12 games). He helped Anaheim to a 9-3-0 record in October (now 10-3-0), the top record in the NHL. He also posted two hat tricks in the first seven games of October, becoming the sixth NHL player in 29 years to record multiple hat tricks in the first seven games of a season.
