Anaheim Arena Management, LLC, the management company for Honda Center, announced today the name of the venue’s new signature hot dog will be The Top Shelf Dog! More than 500 entries from all over the country were submitted for the Honda Center contest, which asked fans to suggest their name ideas for the premium dog. The name submitted by Diane Watts of La Palma, CA and was selected based on its versatility as both a high-end product and hockey goal description.

We are thrilled by the overwhelming response to the contest, and thank all of those who participated,” said Tim Ryan, President and CEO of Honda Center. “The new Top Shelf Dog is just one of the many great items that we will debut over the next two years, and we are confident our guests will be happy with the new offerings.”

The Top Shelf Dog is an all-beef dog, served hot on a fresh pretzel or classic style bun with onions, relish and three types of mustard offered as condiment options. The new hot dog is a key part of Honda Center’s two-year food and beverage upgrade plan which includes new concession stands, unique new menu items as well as quick and professional service. The Top Shelf Dog will be available at Honda Center beginning October 13, and will be the featured menu item at the new Hot Dog Stop concession stands, located in the venue’s concourses at sections 210, 224, 415, 421, 437.

The winning name was submitted by Diane Watts who resides in La Palma. As the winner, Diane will receive one of the delicious dogs, bearing the new name, every time she steps into Honda Center for an event over the next year. Diane will also be welcomed as a VIP guest to help unveil the new dog on October 13, the Anaheim Ducks home opener, and will be featured on that evening’s broadcast, on anaheimducks.com and hondacenter.com.

"I’m very excited to make a small contribution to Honda Center,” said Diane Watts upon being notified that she’d been selected as the contest winner. “I came up with the name by thinking of something exciting like a ‘top shelf goal’ in hockey and a premium hot dog and thought the name "Top Shelf Dog" incorporated both ideas."
