More on Perry's Hat Trick

by Staff Writer / Anaheim Ducks

With three goals (3-0=3) on October 9 at Pittsburgh, Corey Perry became the first Anaheim Duck to record a hat trick in a Season Opener.

Perry's three goals marked the 44th hat trick in franchise history and the sixth of his career. Perry also was the first player to record a hat trick in the 2014-15 NHL season and joined four other active players with a hat trick in a Season Opener. Those players include Colorado's Paul Stastny on Oct. 3, 2007 vs. Dallas, NY Rangers' Derek Stepan on Oct. 9, 2010 at Buffalo, Washington's Mikhail Grabovski on Oct. 1, 2013 at Chicago and Phoenix's Radim Vrbata on Oct. 3, 2013 vs. the NY Rangers. Calgary's Mason Raymond also joined the list later on the same night as Perry, in Edmonton on October 9.
