And today's captains for Anaheim, with Mason McTavish again wearing the "C":

Gage Alexander will get his second start of the tournament in net for Anaheim. Alexander stopped 28-of-31 shots in the Ducks' 3-2 OT loss to the Sharks on Friday.

And we're underway from San Jose...

1:00- First quality scoring chance of the day belongs to Anaheim as Brayden Tracey finds Drew Helleson open in the slot, but Vegas netminder Jesper Vikman comes up with a big early save.
3:20 - Anaheim is controlling the pace of play early in this one, hemming Vegas deep in its own zone on consecutive shifts. Jacob Perreault with a good look from the slot off a one-time feed from McTavish, but the winger sent it just wide of the net.
5:00 - Alexander tested for the first time and comes up with an aggressive save through traffic on a point shot by Danil Chayka.
5:50 - Golden Knights come mere inches from going ahead early after a Ducks defensive zone turnover, but Jordan Gustafson's backhand move rings the post and stays out. Tracey skates it to safety.
7:45 - Vegas is ramping up the pressure on the forecheck, giving the Ducks some trouble evacuating their defensive zone. Has led to a couple of chances for the Golden Knights but Alexander is up to the task.
8:39 - McTavish with the best scoring chance of the opening period so far, racing down a Ducks clearing attempt for a breakaway and attempting a five-hole move, but the Golden Knights netminder got just enough to keep it from crossing the line. Still scoreless about nine minutes into the action.
10:51 - 1-0, Golden Knights.Ducks get caught flat-footed in the neutral zone and Vegas makes them pay as Lyndon McCallum takes a centering pass in the high slot and beats Alexander through some traffic in front of the net. Golden Knights with the game's first lead.
12:42- Another good chance for McTavish on a 2-on-1 rush, but a bouncing puck prevented him from getting everything on his shot, which goes just wide.
14:18 - Ducks tie it, 1-1.Brayden Tracey puts the Ducks on the board, directing a shot from just inside the blueline through a swarm of bodies in front of the net and past Vikman. His second goal of the weekend. Lone assist goes to Tristan Luneau. All even at one late in the first.

14:35 - Vegas to the first power play of the day as Nathan Gaucher is hit with a two-minute hooking minor.
16:35 - Ducks erase the penalty without much trouble. Anaheim off to a strong start on the kill today after surrendering power-play goals in each of the first two games.
17:24 - Anaheim will again go shorthanded, this time guilty of too many men on the ice. Ben King will serve it.
19:24 - Ducks now 2-for-2 on the penalty kill as King emerges from the box in the final minute of the first period.
20:00 - First period comes to a close but not before some light pushing and shoving in the Knights defensive zone. This Ducks team has been engaged physically all weekend and more than a little willing to stick up for one another. We head to intermission all square at one with Vegas ahead on the shot counter 9-7.

Second Period
0:00- We'll start the second period at 4-on-4 after the pleasantries at the end of the first. McTavish (slashing) and Vegas' Joe Fleming (roughing) begin the middle frame in the sin bin.
1:50 - Great chance in tight for Anaheim as Gaucher found Tracey behind the Vegas defense, but Tracey's backhander rolls off the end of his stick and wide of the cage. Back to 5-on-5 play.
3:46 - Ducks get their first power-play. Today's top unit looks like:
Perreault - Lopina - Tracey
McTavish - Zellweger
5:00 - A couple of good looks for Anaheim, including a mad net-front scramble where no one could seem to find the puck, but it stays out and the Knights get the kill.
5:17 - Back to 4-on-4 as King and William Riedell get matching minors.
6:29 - Ducks now forced to kill a 4-on-3 with McTavish flagged for tripping.
7:20 - 2-1, Golden Knights. Ducks very nearly get it back to 5-on-4, pinning the puck to the end wall behind the net, but the Knights work it free to the far side of the ice and Jakub Brabenec's one-timer trickles through Alexander to put Vegas ahead once again.
8:28 - Ducks continuing a trend of penalties coming in bunches. This time its Charles Cote as the guilty part, two minutes for holding.
10:04 - Alexander with a couple of strong saves with the glove to help erase the penalty against Cote. On the other end, Vegas is switching netminders. Isaiah Saville replaces Vikman, who stopped 12-of-13 Anaheim shots.
11:28 - The second-period parade to the box continues. Ducks the beneficiary this time as Fleming is caught for holding.
13:15 - Ducks now up 5-on-3 after a delay of game call goes against Vefas. Best chances on the power play so farcame on one-timers by McTavish and Perreault, but good saves by Saville.
13:24 - Ducks tie it, 2-2. Anaheim capitalizes on the 5-on-3 as this time Perreault gets absolutely everything on a one-time bid, blasting it past Saville to level the score. Ducks still with over 90 seconds of man-advantage time.

14:00 - 3-2 Ducks.Anaheim's power play connects again! Helleson gets his shot through traffic and Nijhoff tips it home. Back-to-back power-play goals, just 36 seconds apart, and the Ducks are suddenly in the lead for the first time today. An audible "quack, quack, quack" chant from some of the Ducks fans in the crowd going on now.

15:30 - Golden Knights tie it, 3-3. Back-and-forth action continues here at Sharks Ice as Vegas ties it on a goal Alexander probably wants back. Ben Hemmerling gets the goal, beating Alexander to the short side from the right wing.
16:17 - Alexander bounces right back with a strong save on Patrick Guay from the slot.
17:19 - Anaheim's red-hot power-play as McTavish was slashed on a 2-on-1 rush with Nijhoff. Ducks held it a 6-on-5 for a while, but they'll now head to a late second-period power play, looking to score on their third straight opportunity.
19:19 - Ducks can't keep the streak alive, but they sure came close. Luneau had a chance in front on a deflection and Gaucher rung the post moments later, but Vegas gets the kill in the last minute of the second.
19:24 - Just when you thought we were back to 5-on-5, Vegas takes another minor penalty. Too many men on the ice.
19:58 - Penalties, penalties and more penalties. Lopina hit from behind in front of the net and the Ducks will again go 5-on-3, mostly in the third period. Anaheim pulls the netminder with two seconds on the clock for a brief 6-on-3, and it nearly works, but Perreault's bid is blocked and we head to the third even at three.

Third Period
0:00- Back for the third. Ducks start with 1:24 of 5-on-3 time.
1:24 - Vegas eliminates the first penalty, in part thanks to Lopina's stick snapping at a quite inopportune time.
1:58 - Back to 5-on-5. Anaheim's best chance was a Nijhoff rebound bid off Luneau's point shot, but Saville sprawled to his right to keep it out.
4:45 - A couple of good saves early in this period by Saville. Ducks doing well to keep the Golden Knights on their heels in the defensive zone.
5:03 - And Anaheim is rewarded for its efforts on the forecheck as Riedell goes to the box for tripping following a Vegas turnover.
5:48 - McTavish hammers it off the crossbar and then has a one-timer denied by Saville. Ducks keep possession and swing it back to McTavish, who hits the post. Anaheim all over the Vegasd penalty kill now.
6:38-4-3, Ducks. The power play comes through once again with Zellweger beating Saville from the right faceoff circle. Excellent puck recovery for the Ducks' man-advantage unit and it leads to their third tally of the game. McTavish gets the lone assist.
9:12 - Anaheim is right back to the power play again. Cross-checking goes against Golden Knights forward Ivan Morozov and a chance for the Ducks to add a big insurance goal.
11:12 - Ducks can't get one past Saville this time, who comes up with another big stop on Hvidston shortly after the penalty expired. Ducks protecting a one-goal lead with under nine minutes to play.
15:25 - Now it's Anaheim who will be tested on the kill with Gaucher whistled for slashing. Vegas searching for the tying goal.
17:25 - Ducks P.K. comes up huge, despite a broken stick for McTavish, and Anaheim is now minutes from its first win of the weekend.
19:00 - Ducks content to ice the puck here. Anaheim focusing on clogging up the middle of the ice while Vegas has pulled the netminder.
19:59 - Strong shift by Lopina helps keep Vegas from getting set up. Alexander makes one last stop and now just a second remains. A last second faceoff will decide it.
