Ducks goaltender J.P. Levasseur has been named the Reebok/AHL Player of the Week for Dec. 13-19. Levasseur went 2-0-0 in three contests for the Syracuse Crunch, Anaheim’s primary development affiliate in the AHL, with a 1.50 GAA (4 GA/160 MIN) and .960 SV% (96-of-100). Levasseur began the week stopping 22-of-25 shots coming on in relief of Timo Pielmeier on Friday, Dec. 17 at Binghamton. A native of Victoriaville, Quebec, Levasseur had 42 saves (43 shots against) vs. Wilkes-Barre/Scranton on Saturday, Dec. 18 in a 3-1 Crunch victory. He recorded his fourth career AHL shutout on Sunday, Dec. 19 against the Connecticut Whale, stopping all 32 shots he faced en route to a 5-0 Syracuse win. Selected by Anaheim in the seventh round (197th overall) of the 2005 NHL Entry Draft, Levasseur has gone 5-6-2 with a 2.81 GAA and .918 SV% in 17 games with the Crunch this season.
