The Ducks announced on Thursday that the Anaheim Lady Ducks (wives and significant others of Ducks players, management, coaches and broadcasters) have teamed with Anaheim White House Restaurant proprietor, Bruno Serato, in hosting a “Pasta Drive” this Sunday, Nov. 21 before the club takes on the Edmonton Oilers at Honda Center (5:05 p.m.). Fans attending Sunday’s game can bring new, unopened packages of dried pasta that will be donated to make free meals for the Boys and Girls Clubs of Anaheim.
“The Lady Ducks are an important part of our club’s charitable efforts and we were delighted when they presented the idea of a pasta drive,” said Director of Community Relations Wendy Yamagishi. “We encourage our fans to bring packages of dried pasta to Sunday’s game to help feed local children who, without Bruno and the Anaheim White House, may go without dinner each night.”
The Lady Ducks will be on hand to collect packages of pasta from fans prior to entering Honda Center for Sunday’s game. The collection station will be located at “The Hockey Spot,” in the parking lot on the North side of the building. The pasta will go toward nightly meals that Serato’s team at the Anaheim White House Restaurant prepares for children at the Boys and Girls Clubs of Anaheim. For over five years, Serato has provided a hot pasta meal to children who otherwise might have gone hungry. Serato has served more than 250,000 meals to children in need during that span.
“I thank the Anaheim Lady Ducks and Ducks fans from the bottom of my heart for helping in this cause,” said Serato.
“The Hockey Spot” takes place prior to every Sunday Ducks home game in Lot 3 on the North side of Honda Center. Open two hours prior to the start of every Sunday home game, “The Hockey Spot” offers interactive hockey games and other family activities. Tickets to Sunday’s game vs. Edmonton are still available and can be purchased online at AnaheimDucks.com, by phone with Ticketmaster at (714) 703-2545 or in person at the Honda Center box office.
