More than 80 new hockey players took part in Try Hockey For Free Day on Saturday, Nov. 3 at THE RINKS – Yorba Linda ICE. The event was held in conjunction with the Anaheim Ducks Learn to Play program.
Try Hockey For Free Day offered boys and girls ages 4 through 9 the chance to learn to play the game of hockey during a supervised on-ice session. Participants received instruction on the basics of hockey as well as learning how to skate properly. Participants were provided with skates, shoulder and elbow pads, shin guards, a helmet, hockey pants, gloves and a jersey for the one-hour session.
Try Hockey For Free Day is part of USA Hockey’s Come Play Hockey Month. This program, designed to provide youth hockey associations a national platform to introduce new kids to the sport, is a joint‐effort between USA Hockey, the NHL and its member clubs.
