Karlsson, Etem Reassigned to Norfolk (AHL)

The Ducks have reassigned left wing Emerson Etem and center William Karlsson to the Norfolk Admirals, Anaheim’s primary development affiliate in the American Hockey League (AHL).

Etem, 22 (6/16/92), scored 2-2=4 points with two penalty minutes (PIM) in 21 games with the Ducks this season. A native of Long Beach, CA, Etem has collected 12-13=25 points with a +6 rating and 15 PIM in 88 career NHL games with Anaheim. The 6-1, 212-pound winger appeared in 50 games with Norfolk last season, earning 24-30=54 points with a +14 rating and 10 PIM. Selected by Anaheim in the first round (29th overall) of the 2010 NHL Entry Draft, Etem led the Admirals in scoring and assists, co-led in plus/minus, ranked second in goals and third in power-play goals (7) in 2013-14.

Karlsson, 21 (1/8/93), collected 2-1=3 points with a +3 rating and two PIM in 16 games with Anaheim this season. Karlsson made his NHL debut on Oct. 11 at Detroit and scored his first two career NHL goals (2-0=2) along with the game-winner on Oct. 13 at Buffalo. The 6-0, 185-pound center has appeared in nine career AHL games with Norfolk, scoring 2-7=9 points with a +5 rating and six PIM. Selected by Anaheim in the second round (53rd overall) of the 2011 NHL Entry Draft, Karlsson also earned 1-2=3 points with two PIM in eight Calder Cup Playoff games in 2014.
