Injury Updates on Selanne, Getzlaf, Parros

by Staff Writer / Anaheim Ducks
During an off day for the Ducks on Monday, the team received word on the updated information on the health of three key contributors.

Teemu Selanne underwent an MRI today, which showed a slight left shoulder sprain. He will be evaluated again tomorrow morning and is currently listed as day-to-day (questionable for Wednesday’s game vs. Chicago).

Selanne, who tallied his 599th career goal in Sunday's 4-2 win over the Sharks, spilled awkwardly into the boards trying to score No. 600 on a feed from linemate Saku Koivu in the third period.

Ryan Getzlaf also had an MRI today on his sprained left ankle. The MRI showed inflammation in the area, but no further damage. Getzlaf is also listed as day-to-day and questionable for Wednesday’s game.

The injury is to the same ankle Getzlaf originally injured prior to the Olympics. He re-injured it also during the third period and left the arena in a walking boot.

George Parros (contusion/laceration on side of head) is likely to practice tomorrow and is expected to be available for Wednesday’s game. The Anaheim enforcer was struck by a puck during the morning skate leading up the Sunday's contest against the Sharks.
