Honda Center’s $20 Million Expansion Project to be Unveiled at Ducks Home Opener Thursday vs. Rangers

by Staff Writer / Anaheim Ducks
The Ducks announced today that the club will open its 20th anniversary season home schedule this Thursday, Oct. 10 against the New York Rangers (7 p.m.) at Honda Center. Ducks fans are encouraged to arrive early for Anaheim Ducks Opening Night, particularly to take part in the Ducks Red Carpet presented by HONDA, beginning at 3:30 p.m. on Honda Center’s south side. Players will be arriving in a variety of HONDA vehicles and interacting with fans as they walk the red carpet through the dramatic new entry plaza, part of the $20 million Grand Terrace project. Players will be interviewed on stage by Ducks hosts Kent French and Lisa Hillary while Wild Wing and the Power Players will be on hand to pass out Ducks gifts and special autographed items to fans.

Honda Center will debut The Grand Terrace and the new Anaheim Ducks Team Store Powered by Reebok in conjunction with Anaheim Ducks Opening Night. The Grand Terrace Project marks the largest single upgrade in Honda Center’s 20-year history. The 15,000 square foot indoor/outdoor entertainment space features more than 100 feet of bar space, upscale décor, unique menu options, outdoor fire pits and will offer service of the highest degree. Located directly beneath The Grand Terrace is the all-new Anaheim Ducks Team Store Powered by Reebok and the plaza is flanked by two state-of-the-art Daktronics screens measuring 15 feet by 25 feet. The new team store is more than three times the size of the store’s previous location and will carry items and styles for every taste and budget.

Fans are invited to make Anaheim Ducks Opening Night festivities interactive by using the hashtags #DucksOpeningNight and #NHLDucks on social media platforms. All fans in attendance are encouraged to be in their seats by 6:45 p.m. for the opening sequence and player introductions. The Ducks enter their first homestand with a 2-1-0 record after posting consecutive wins on Oct. 5 at Minnesota (4-3 OT win) and Oct. 6 at Winnipeg (3-2 win). Following Thursday’s contest vs. the Rangers, the homestand continues with contests against the Ottawa Senators (Sunday, Oct. 13; “Throwback Night”), Calgary Flames (Wednesday, Oct. 16), Phoenix Coyotes (Friday, Oct. 18) and Dallas Stars (Sunday, Oct. 20).

Tickets for Anaheim Ducks Opening Night are still available and can be purchased for as low as $32 per seat. Tickets can be purchased through, Ticketmaster or at the Honda Center Box Office. Fans will incur no additional fees when purchasing tickets direct from the Anaheim Ducks (via any of the aforementioned avenues). In addition, fans will continue to receive free TicketFast delivery (ability to print tickets at home). For more information on Season, Premium and Mini Plan ticket packages, call 1-877-WILD WING or visit

Thursday’s game will also offer the first of four “Surprise Puck” sales, benefiting the Anaheim Ducks Foundation. Opening Night’s limited-edition puck commemorates Anaheim’s Inaugural Game on Oct. 8, 1993 vs. Detroit and will be available for purchase ($30 each) at Section 212 beginning at 5:30 p.m. Fans will pick an individually wrapped puck (signed by a Ducks player) and 20 lucky fans will receive a surprise Ducks player-autographed orange puck. The winners of the Opening Night Surprise Puck sale will receive a Guy Hebert-autographed Mighty Ducks jersey.
