Honda Center and Anaheim Ducks Announce Promotionsin Communications Departments

ANAHEIM, Calif. - Anaheim Arena Management and the Anaheim Ducks announced today that Merit Tully has been promoted to director of media and communications for Anaheim Arena Management (Honda Center). In addition, Ryan Lichtenfels has been promoted to media and communications manager for the Anaheim Ducks and Lauren O'Gorman has been named media and communications coordinator for the NHL club. 

"Congratulations to Merit, Ryan and Lauren," said Senior Vice President/CMO of the Anaheim Ducks & Honda Center Bob Wagner. "All three of them are tremendous public relations professionals with great futures ahead with the organization."

Tully joins Anaheim Arena Management from the Anaheim Ducks communications department, having served there since 2000. With the Ducks, Tully worked closely with all team executives and players to proactively manage the club's identity. During his tenure with the Ducks, he helped secure placement on television programs such as Extreme Makeover: Home Edition, Jimmy Kimmel Live and The Tonight Show. Tully was an integral part of the Ducks communications department last season, one that was recognized as a finalist for the 2005-2006 Dick Dillman Award, given annually to the NHL's best public relations staff.

Prior to joining the Ducks communications staff, Tully worked as the Phoenix Coyotes publications and media relations manager from 1999-2000. He saw his first stint in Anaheim as an assistant in the publications department for both the Angels and then-Mighty Ducks from 1998-2000. Tully also worked in the Los Angeles Clippers community relations department following his graduation from Fresno State.

After graduating from Penn State in May of 2000, Lichtenfels joined the Ducks/Angels communications staff in June, 2000. He was named publications and media relations coordinator for the Phoenix Coyotes in July, 2001, and was promoted to manager of publications/media relations in July, 2002. Lichtenfels re-joined the Ducks in July, 2005 as communications coordinator, where he has served until his current appointment.

O'Gorman joined the Ducks in September, 2005 as a communications assistant. She was named communications coordinator in July, 2006. O'Gorman graduated from UCLA in June, 2004, and worked for television station KOCE until joining the Ducks.
