The Ducks will host their 2010-11 Home Opener this Wednesday (Oct. 13) vs. the Vancouver Canucks at Honda Center (7:05 p.m.). Good seats are still available and can be purchased by CLICKING HERE.
Tomorrow’s game marks the Ducks’ 17th home opener at Honda Center in franchise history. Fans in attendance will have the opportunity to take in new sights, sounds and flavors in celebration of the 2010-11 season. Actress Melora Hardin, best known as “Jan” from NBC’s “The Office” will sing the U.S. national anthem prior to the start of the game.
Fans are encouraged to arrive early for a special Red Carpet event, taking place at the North entrance of Honda Center, beginning at 3:30 p.m. Ducks players will walk the red carpet and participate in pre-game interviews as they enter the building before suiting up for the game. Ducks television host Kent French and Go Country (105.1 KKGO) on-air host Shawn Parr will be on the red carpet interviewing players as they arrive. In addition, Go Country’s Street Team will be on-site raffling off prizes to fans who attend the Ducks’ Red Carpet event. Pregame Festivities
Fans are also encouraged to be in their seats by 6:45 p.m. for the exciting new pre-game opening video and entertainment presentation for the 2010-11 season. From past feature films “17 Again” and “Hannah Montana: The Movie,” as well as NBC’s hit series “The Office,” Melora Hardin will kick off the Ducks home schedule by singing the U.S. national anthem. The Ducks home opener also marks the kickoff of Honda Center’s new two-year food and beverage upgrade program which seeks to offer unique new menu items as well as quick and professional service. Five new branded concepts are part of the initial wave, including Bluewater Grill (Section 226), Urban Wok (Section 443), The OC Grill (Section 205), Simply Chicken (Section 212) and The Hot Dog Stop (Sections 210, 224, 415, 421 & 437). Features items at the five new stands include Bluewater Grill’s signature fish and chips, The OC Grill’s Philly cheese steak and The Hot Dog Stop’s Top Shelf Dog, Honda Center’s new signature hot dog that puts a modern twist on an old-fashioned favorite.Win a 2011 Honda CR-Z
During the second intermission of Wednesday’s contest, one lucky fan will win a 2011 Honda CR-Z from American Honda. Five finalists will be selected at random to compete in an on-ice contest for the grand prize. In addition, the new owner of the Honda CR-Z will receive a $500 gas gift card and a trip for two to Las Vegas, provided by the Auto Club (AAA). Surprise Pucks
The Ducks will also be offering a commemorative series of four limited-edition Anaheim Ducks pucks in 2010-11 to benefit the Anaheim Ducks Foundation. Beginning Wednesday, fans can pick an individually wrapped puck at random and receive either a Ducks player-autographed commemorative puck or one of 24 “surprise” Ducks player-autographed orange pucks, which also includes an Anaheim Ducks autographed jersey. The Surprise Puck Set series will continue on Nov. 26 vs. Chicago, Feb. 2 vs. San Jose and Apr. 8 vs. Los Angeles. Each puck will cost $30 and are available at Section 213 beginning at 5:30 p.m. on all four game days.
Kicking off the Homestand
The Ducks home opener is the first of a three-game homestand. Following Wednesday’s contest, the Ducks take on the Atlanta Thrashers on Friday, Oct. 15 (7:05 p.m.) and the Phoenix Coyotes on Sunday, Oct. 17 (5:05 p.m.).
