Guenin Reassigned to Syracuse

The Ducks have reassigned defenseman Nate Guenin to the Syracuse Crunch, Anaheim’s primary development affiliate in the American Hockey League (AHL).

Guenin, 29 (12/10/82), appeared in nine contests with Anaheim this season, scoring one goal (1-0=1) with a +1 rating and six penalty minutes (PIM). Acquired from Columbus in exchange for Trevor Smith on Jan. 4, 2011, Guenin scored his first career NHL goal in his Anaheim debut on Oct. 7 at Buffalo in Helsinki, Finland. The Sewickley, PA native has played 10 games for Syracuse this year, collecting 0-2=2 points with a +1 rating and 10 PIM.

Originally selected by the New York Rangers in the third round (127th overall) of the 2002 NHL Entry Draft, Guenin has appeared in 26 career NHL games with Philadelphia, Pittsburgh, Columbus and Anaheim, scoring 1-2=3 points with 14 PIM. The 6-3, 207-pound blueliner made his NHL debut with Philadelphia on Jan. 18, 2007 vs. the New York Islanders.
