Gibson Continues to Shine in World Championship Play

Ducks prospect John Gibson (second round, 39th overall in 2011 draft) won his third straight game for Team USA (31 saves) in an 8-3 win over Russia today in the quarterfinal round of the 2013 International Ice Hockey Federation Men's World Championship in Helsinki, Finland. Highlights

Gibson had a shutout streak of 129:37 in the tournament (spanning three games) before Russia scored its first goal today.

In three games in the tournament, Gibson is now 3-0 with a 1.33 goals-against average (GAA) and .958 save percentage (SV%). In his two international tournaments this season (World Juniors and World Championships), Gibson is 8-2 with a 1.35 GAA and .956 SV% for Team USA.

The U.S. will face Switzerland on Saturday in the semifinals.
