Getzlaf Wins 'Three Stars' Honor

Ducks center Ryan Getzlaf was the winner of the season-long "Three Stars" competition sponsored by American Honda. Getzlaf finished with 67 points in a system that awarded five points for earning the No. 1 Star of each game, three points for the No. 2 Star and one point for the No. 3 star.

American Honda donated $100 per point to Special Olympics Southern California on behalf of the player who finished the regular season with the most points.

Goalie Jean-Sebastien Giguere finished second in the race, with a tie for third among goalie Jonas Hiller, Scott Niedermayer and Corey Perry.

In addition, the Ducks and
American Honda collectively donated $1,000 to Special Olympics for each Anaheim regular season victory. The Ducks won 42 games in 2008-09, which means $42,000 will be donated.
