Ducks center Ryan Getzlaf sprained his left ankle in the second period of the Ducks' 4-2 victory over the Kings at Honda Center, but it has yet to be determined how much time he will miss.
Getzlaf injured the ankle while getting tangled with Kings forward Dustin Brown with the Ducks on the power play about six minutes into the period. Getzlaf immediately headed to the locker room and did not return to the game. X-rays were negative, and Getzlaf -- who left Honda Center on crutches and in a walking boot -- is scheduled to undergo an MRI on Tuesday.
Getzlaf had a goal earlier in the period to give the Ducks a 2-1 lead.
"We really haven’t received an assessment other than he sprained his ankle," said Ducks coach Randy Carlyle immediately after the game. "[The MRI] will give us a better indication on the severity of the sprain."
