Getzlaf Day to Day with Leg Laceration

by Staff Writer / Anaheim Ducks
Ducks center Ryan Getzlaf is day to day after suffering a leg laceration in Saturday night's 5-2 defeat to the San Jose Sharks at HP Pavilion.

Anaheim's leading scorer with 41 points on the year, Getzlaf cut himself with his own skate while falling awkwardly to the ice. A medical examination recealed no muscle damage or tears and Getzlaf is listed as questionable for Tuesday night's game against the Minnesota Wild at Honda Center.

"There's definitely some healing to do," Getzlaf said after the game, "but I think we're talking days instead of weeks."

Getzlaf hasn't practiced with the Ducks the past two days, but has worked out on his own.

“The whole issue with that right now is infection," said coach Randy Carlyle, "to make sure the healing process is well on its way.”
