by Staff Writer / Anaheim Ducks

Ducks defenseman Cam Fowler suffered a sprained knee in the first period of the Ducks' 4-2 win over the Flyers, and his recovery timeline will be determined later this week.

The Ducks have recalled defenseman Shea Theodore from the San Diego Gulls, Anaheim's primary development affiliate in the American Hockey League (AHL).

Theodore, 20 (8/3/95), scored 4-12=16 points with 14 penalty minutes (PIM) in 27 games with San Diego this season. At the time of his recall, Theodore ranked tied for third among team leaders in power-play goals (3), third in assists and tied for fourth in scoring. The 6-2, 195-pound blueliner has yet to make his NHL debut.

Selected by Anaheim in the first round (26th overall) of the 2013 NHL Draft, Theodore was named the Western Hockey League’s (WHL) Defenseman of the Year in 2014-15. He concluded his WHL career as Seattle’s all-time leader in goals (58) and points (212) by a defenseman. Theodore also won gold with Team Canada at the 2015 IIHF World Junior Championship in Toronto and Montreal, scoring 1-1=2 points with a +12 rating in seven tournament games.
