Former Junior and Lady Duck Anne Pankowski (Laguna Hills, California) has been named to the U.S. Women's National Team. The 25-player roster, announced this morning in Lake Placid, New York, will begin training for the 2014 Olympic Games in Sochi, Russia.

Pankowski, 18, played for the Anaheim Junior Ducks at the Mite and Squirt levels before joining the Lady Ducks at age nine, where she played for the 12-under, 14-under and 16-under teams. She was part of the Lady Ducks 12-under National championship team in 2007. Pankowski played in the U.S. Hockey Girls National Championship and won a bronze medal four times at 12-under (2006), 14-under (2008 and 2009) and 16-under (2010). Pankowski also participated as a two-time member of the U.S. 18-under Women's Select team, playing in the World Championships in 2012 (won a silver medal). A graduate of Santa Margarita Catholic High School, she begins her freshman year at the University of Wisconsin this fall.
