Fifth Annual Kits for Kids Donation Drive

by Staff Writer / Anaheim Ducks
The Wild Wingers Kids Club and Children’s Hospital of Orange County (CHOC Children’s) have partnered for the fifth annual Kits for Kids Donation Drive, giving Ducks fans the opportunity to purchase Kids Club kits for CHOC Children’s patients. Every $25 Kids Club kit donated will be personally delivered by Ducks players when the team makes its annual holiday visit to the hospital in December.

“Our fans have answered the call for this donation drive in larger numbers each season,” said Ducks Director of Fan Development Matt Savant. “Hopefully this will be our best year to date, helping us to make the holiday season a bit brighter for patients at CHOC Children’s.”

A record 1,700 Kids Club kits were purchased by Ducks fans last year in time for the holidays. Supporters who purchase two-or-more Kids Club kits will receive an autographed Ducks player photo. Those who purchase five-or-more kits will be entered into a random drawing for a meet-and-greet opportunity with Ducks goaltender Jonas Hiller. In addition to the meet-and-greet, the winner will receive a game-used autographed Hiller stick and four tickets to an upcoming Ducks game. A donation of 10-or-more kits grants automatic entry into a drawing for a free 20-person suite to an upcoming Ducks game at Honda Center. A 20% discount ($20 each) on each kit will be offered to those who donate four-or-more kits.

CHOC Children’s patients who receive a kit will enjoy a variety of benefits, including one ticket voucher to a select 2010-11 Anaheim Ducks home game and a free hot dog and soda, a Kids Club 12-month hanging calendar, Kids Club sweatbands, a Kids Club Jonas Hiller t-shirt and a foam hand. In addition, every member receives a Wild Wingers Kids Club Duck Tag, which provides discounts to the San Diego Zoo, Sea World, Knott’s Berry Farm, Discovery Science Center, Boomers! Irvine, Aquarium of the Pacific, Ultimate Skate, Hockey Giant, and much more. Members also receive tickets to three parties during the season featuring Ducks players, including an opportunity to skate at Honda Center and the annual End of the Year Party with a special appearance by Hiller.
