Ducks goaltender Dan Ellis
had successful sports hernia surgery today in Los Angeles (performed by Dr. Craig Smith).
Ellis suffered a torn groin in practice on Jan. 7. He Ellis will begin rehabilitation next week and is expected to be out of action for an additional 4-6 weeks.
The 31-year-old Ellis, in his second season with the Ducks, has a 2.72 goals-against average and .911 save percentage in 10 games this season.
