Eighth Annual “Give Blood Play Hockey” Charity Tournament to Take Place This Weekend

The Eighth Annual “Give Blood Play Hockey” charity inline tournament will be held at THE RINKS – Irvine Inline Oct. 23-26. Proceeds from the tournament will benefit CHOC Children’s (CHOC).

Mobile blood units will be onsite for individuals who wish to donate blood during the tournament, which had 101 teams battling in 18 different divisions in last year’s event. To date, the “Give Blood Play Hockey” tournament has collected 1,300 pints of blood and donated more than $360,000 to CHOC. The tournament currently has a goal to raise $150,000 and collect 300 pints of blood this year.

Tournament divisions range from youth to adult and are split between various skill levels (beginner through advanced). The event is open to the general public, and those in attendance are encouraged to take an active role in donating blood during the four-day tournament. The Anaheim Ducks Street Team, Wild Wing and the Anaheim Ducks Power Players will also be on hand throughout the weekend to participate in the tournament festivities.
