The Eighth Annual Give Blood Play Hockey charity tournament was held at The Rinks - Irvine Inline from October 23-26. Proceeds from the tournament benefited CHOC Children’s (CHOC).
This year, the tournament raised $116,000 and 329 pints of life-saving blood. To date, the “Give Blood Play Hockey” tournament has collected 1,675 pints of blood and donated $475,000 to CHOC.
Tournament divisions ranged from youth to adult and were split between various skill levels (beginner through advanced). The event was open to the general public, and those in attendance were encouraged to take an active role in donating blood during the four-day tournament. The Anaheim Ducks Street Team, Wild Wing and the Anaheim Ducks Power Players were also on hand throughout the weekend to participate in the tournament festivities. The Rinks would like to thank all of the participants, players and supporters that make this annual tournament a success.
