The Anaheim Ducks and Los Angeles Kings today unveiled the specially designed jerseys and uniforms for the 2014 Coors Light NHL Stadium Series™ contest at Dodger Stadium on Saturday, Jan. 25, 2014 (6:30 p.m. PST). Anaheim’s jersey features a chrome-treated “D” logo, unique to the 2014 Coors Light NHL Stadium Series™ contest and inspired from the chrome details in the NHL shield. The Ducks Stadium Series jersey is orange, currently an accent color in the club’s primary logo. The 2014 Coors Light NHL Stadium Series™ jerseys are currently being sold via pre-order at the Anaheim Ducks Team Store Powered by Reebok, set for January delivery.
The 2014 Coors Light NHL Stadium Series will showcase advancements in uniform manufacturing that feature fresh new design applications while celebrating the sport and team brands with a modern flair. Anaheim’s new jersey for Jan. 25 will include enlarged player names and numbers for improved visibility in an outdoor venue, as well as a new shoulder logo to signify the geographic rivalry between the Ducks and Kings. An interlocked “OC” logo appears on the left shoulder of the Ducks’ Stadium Series jersey, while the Kings jersey will have an “LA” patch. In addition, the new jersey technology fuses print and embroidery, reducing the weight of the crest which results in a lightweight jersey for athlete performance. The NHL Stadium Series jersey was designed with creative input from the Ducks, Reebok and the NHL. The Ducks jersey also includes a lace-up collar, helping to deliver the timeless style of traditional hockey while also creating a seamless feel.
The Ducks will face their crosstown rivals in the first-ever California outdoor NHL game, marking the first time a regular season contest will be played outdoors in the United States, west of the Mississippi River. Opened on Apr. 10, 1962, Dodger Stadium is the third-oldest continually used park in Major League Baseball. The host for eight World Series and close to 4,000 regular season games, this will be the first time Dodger Stadium will be the home of a hockey game. In the 112-game history between the Ducks and Kings, January’s outdoor game will serve as just the second neutral site in regular season competition. The two clubs competed in two contests in London, England at the O2 Arena as part of the 2007 NHL Premiere. Anaheim became the first NHL team from California to win the Stanley Cup in 2007, with the Kings following as the second California team to win hockey’s ultimate prize in 2012. Tickets for the 2014 Coors Light NHL Stadium Series™ are on sale now via AnaheimDucks.com and Ticketmaster.com, the official ticket marketplace of the NHL
