Ducks to Host Seventh Annual Mini 1-on-1 Tournament

The Ducks will host the seventh annual Mini 1-on-1 Shootout Tournament presented by Hockey Giant. Seven divisions will participate in the tournament including Mite, Squirt, Pee Wee, Bantam and High School along with two new girls only divisions: Pee Wee and Bantam. The tournament begins with four qualifying rounds: Oct. 8 at Yorba Linda ICE, Oct. 13 at Anaheim ICE, Oct. 15 at Westminster ICE and Oct. 29 at San Diego Ice Arena. The top four shooters and goalies from each age group will move on to the semi-finals held at Honda Center. The final two shooters/goalies in each age group will compete during the intermission of a Ducks game for the championship title. The Anaheim Ducks Mini 1-on-1 Shootout Tournament presented by Hockey Giant is the largest in the NHL. Last year 563 players participated in the tournament. Last year's Squirt Champions, Christian Kim and Sam Straff, won the NHL competition during All-Star Weekend by defeating four other NHL team's champions (Boston Bruins, Chicago Blackhawks, Washington Capitals and Nashville Predators). Anaheim Ducks forward Corey Perry was on hand to give the Ducks team a pep talk before the competition started in Nashville.
