The Ducks will host “OC Animal Care Night” at Honda Center this Sunday, Feb. 21 vs. Calgary (at 4 p.m.). The night aims to raise awareness for OC Animal Care, an open-admission animal shelter that provides temporary shelter and medical care for lost, owned or stray animals. Fans are encouraged to visit The Hockey Spot (outside the north doors of Honda Center) from 2-4 p.m. this Sunday to receive more information on OC Animal Care’s efforts and their mission to find adoptive homes for local pets. OC Animal Care will have dogs on-hand to interact with fans and will be available for adoption starting Monday, Feb. 22 at OC Animal Care.
Fans are also asked to donate pet food, toys and new or gently used towels and blankets for use at OC Animal Care’s shelter. The donations can be brought to the shelter’s informational booth at The Hockey Spot from 2-4 p.m. on Sunday. In addition, the Anaheim Ducks Foundation will hold an opportunity drawing to win autographed canvases featuring Ducks players with dogs. Opportunity drawing tickets will be available for purchase at the Hockey Spot from 2-4 p.m. and in Section 212 once the game begins. The evening’s silent auction proceeds will benefit OC Animal Care.
As part of the OC Animal Care Night activities, the Team Store will be featuring Ducks merchandise for pets as well as “Cogs for Dogs” apparel. Ducks forward, Andrew Cogliano has taken his love of animals and created “Cogs for Dogs,” a program dedicated to raising awareness for the need for animal adoption and rescue at OC Animal Care. On OC Animal Care Night, all “Cogs for Dogs” apparel and headwear purchases will receive an Andrew Cogliano autographed 5x7 “Cogs for Dogs” photo (one photo per person).
In anticipation of OC Animal Care Night, the Anaheim Ducks will host “Cogs for Dogs” Adoption Day at OC Animal Care on Saturday, Feb. 20. The adoption event will take place from 11 a.m.-3:30 p.m. and will feature guest appearances by the Power Players, Ducks Street Team as well as a special meet and great window with Anaheim Ducks forward Andrew Cogliano from 12:30pm – 2:00pm (this time is subject to change). At the Ducks “Cogs for Dogs” Adoption Day, OC Animal Care adoptable pets will be available for a special adoption fee of $7 per animal (licensing fee may apply), including a free spay/neuter, microchipping, flea treatment, deworming, vaccines and feline testing. This special rate, in honor of Cogliano’s jersey number (#7), is courtesy of a generous donation by OC Animal Care and Andrew Cogliano. Adopters of the first 100 pets at the Ducks “Cogs for Dogs” Adoption Day, will receive an 8x10 autographed photo of Andrew Cogliano and a Ducks bandana for their new best friend.
