Ducks to Host Inline Hockey Junior Olympics for Third Consecutive Summer

by Staff Writer / Anaheim Ducks

THE RINKS – Huntington Beach Inline will host the 2012 Inline Hockey Junior Olympics presented by Reebok from June 28-July 8, 2012. In partnership with the Amateur Athletic Union (AAU), Team USA Hockey Club, and USA Rollersports, the Ducks will also host the 2012 Inline Hockey Adult Nationals presented by Reebok at Huntington Beach Inline from June 29-July 1. Registration is now open for both tournaments. The first Inline Hockey Junior Olympics at Huntington Beach Inline in 2010 marked the first time in tournament history the event was held west of the Mississippi River.

Over 3,000 athletes from eight different countries are expected to travel to Southern California for the Junior Olympics and Adult Nationals this summer. Of the 350 expected teams, over 175 are California-based, more than any other single state or country. Participating countries in the 2012 Junior Olympics are expected to travel from China (Hong Kong), Great Britain, Australia, Canada, Columbia, Taiwan and New Zealand.

Huntington Beach Inline, part of the Anaheim Ducks’ THE RINKS development program, will serve as the headquarters for both the 2012 Junior Olympics and Adult Nationals. The Ducks operate five local skating facilities within THE RINKS program, including two ice rinks (THE RINKS – Anaheim ICE and THE RINKS – Westminster ICE) and three inline facilities (THE RINKS – Huntington Beach Inline THE RINKS – Irvine Inline and THE RINKS – Corona Inline).

Huntington Beach Inline is located at 5555 McFadden Ave., Huntington Beach, CA 92649.
