Ducks to Host 'Alberta Day' on Sunday at The Hockey Spot

Sunday will serve as “Alberta Day” at Honda Center when the Ducks take on the Calgary Flames at 5:05 p.m. From 3-5 p.m. at The Hockey Spot in the Honda Center parking lot (North side of the building), fans can stop in prior to the game to learn more about the Canadian Province, listen to live music, sample delicious food and enjoy a variety of activities taking place. In addition, one lucky fan will win a trip to the Province courtesy of Travel Alberta. Please note that all outdoor activities for Sunday’s “Alberta Day” at The Hockey Spot are weather permitting.
The Province of Alberta is the Official Travel Destination of the Anaheim Ducks and Honda Center. As a result of the partnership, the Ducks and Travel Alberta are offering fans an exciting opportunity to discover all the Canadian Province has to offer as a travel destination at “Alberta Day.” Multiple vendors will be on hand to showcase the region, providing information on travel packages and outdoor activities available when visiting Alberta. Vendors will also provide information to fans on the concourse (200 level) during Sunday’s game. Edmonton-based group, “The Be Arthurs” will play live music as fans make their way through The Hockey Spot. In addition, jugglers and face painters will be on hand to entertain the younger audience.
One lucky fan who visits “Alberta Day” at The Hockey Spot on Sunday will win a three-day, two-night travel package to Alberta. The trip for two will include two round-trip tickets to Alberta on WestJet, who will commence daily non-stop flights to Calgary from Orange County starting June 13, 2011, and the winner will have the choice of visiting one of three destinations within the Province. Fans can submit an entry to win at the Travel Alberta booth and the winning entry will be drawn just after 5 p.m. on Sunday (winner will be notified by telephone). Beer sponsored by Miller Lite and other beverages will be available for purchase while fans can sample Ranchers Reserve beef at the “Safeway Trailer.” Ranchers Reserve beef originates from Alberta and is sold exclusively at Vons grocery stores.
Fans that visit “Alberta Day” at The Hockey Spot will receive gift bags containing coupons and special items from Anaheim Ducks partners and Travel Alberta clients.
The Hockey Spot takes place prior to every Sunday Ducks home game on the North side of Honda Center. Open two hours prior to the start of every Sunday home game, The Hockey Spot offers interactive hockey games and other family activities.
