The Ducks will hold 2012-13 Power Player tryouts this Saturday, July 7, beginning at 9 a.m. The tryouts will take place at THE RINKS - Anaheim ICE, located at 300 West Lincoln Ave. in Anaheim. The Power Players support the event presentation efforts at every Ducks home game, as well as make appearances at various community events. The Ducks are in search of charismatic and outgoing individuals who possess excellent communication skills and are knowledgeable about the sport of hockey.
Registration will take place at 9 a.m., upon which Power Player hopefuls will be provided with a numbered bib and participate in skating drills. A panel of Ducks staff members will assess each participant’s skating ability and on-ice personality. Candidates selected to continue the interview process after Saturday’s tryouts will be contacted approximately one week later.
Three contestants have already advanced to the second round of tryouts, which consists of sit-down panel interviews. A contest was held through OrangeCounty.com (ended June 27) in which applicants were given the opportunity to submit a one-minute video detailing their qualifications and excitement about becoming a Power Player. The three winners, selected by a panel of judges from the Anaheim Ducks staff, were Tippy Packard (Rancho Santa Margarita), Stephanie Sanchez (Fullerton) and Krista O’Donnell (Yorba Linda).
