The Ducks will honor the United States Armed Forces by hosting Military Appreciation Night presented by Pacific Premier Bank on Wednesday, Nov. 11 at Honda Center when the Ducks face the Edmonton Oilers (7:00 p.m.). All fans in attendance will receive an American Flag courtesy of Pacific Premier Bank. This special game night will pay tribute to local military members and their families as well as raise awareness for local military nonprofit organizations, Defending the Blue Line and Veterans First.
Anaheim Ducks players will be wearing camouflage jerseys during the pre-game warm-up for Military Appreciation Night. Following the game, the jerseys will be autographed and made available in an online auction at AnaheimDucks.com/auction. The night will begin with four members of the US Army rappelling from the rafters to join a bomb detecting robot from the National Guard’s 9th Civil Support Team that will participate in the evening’s honorary first puck drop. The action continues throughout the game with a first intermission puck shooting contest between all of the military branches (USMC, Army, Navy, USAF, Coast Guard and National Guard), as well as military personnel and family members from Defending the Blue Line participating in a variety of experiences, including Zamboni rides.
In a pre-game ceremony, the Ducks will honor Master Sergeant Elisha Hubbard, a Community Hero. Hubbard has served our country for over 14 years and has been on multiple deployments to Iraq and Afghanistan where she was with the 670th Military Police Company. While with the 670th Military Police Company she was activated as part of Operation Fire Storm in 2007 for the San Diego Wildfires, and she managed the tactical operations center and tracked the missions of three separate MP units. A highly decorated member of our armed forces, Master Sergeant Hubbard has received such awards Combat Action Badge, Meritorious Service Medal, Army Commendation Medal, Army Achievement Medal, Good Conduct Medal, Reserve Components Achievement medal, National Defense Service Medal, Afghanistan Campaign Medal, Global War on Terror Expeditionary Medal, NATO Medal, Meritorious Unit Commendation, Honor Graduate of the Advanced Leaders course and Senior Leaders Course. As her civilian career, Master Sergeant Hubbard is a Deputy for the San Diego Sheriff’s Department and she is currently working on her Master’s Degree in Leadership in Law Enforcement from the University of San Diego.
During the game, Veteran and US Army Sergeant Kenn Miller will receive the Salute to Those Who Serve Award. From 1967-1969, Miller served in Vietnam with all three of the Long Range Reconnaissance Patrol and Ranger units attached to the 101st Airborne. He is the author of the novel, Tiger the Lurp Dog, and the second book of the Six Silent Men historical trilogy, is a founding member of the 75th Ranger Regiment Association and an active associate member of Special Forces Association Chapter 78.
As part of Military Appreciation Night events, non-perishable food items will be collected for Veterans First, an Orange County-based organization that provides services exclusively to our region’s homeless and at-risk veterans. Fans are encouraged to bring canned and non-perishable food items to the Ducks in the Community booths located at the Southwest and Northeast Entrances starting at 5:30 p.m.

PARTICIPATING NONPROFIT ORGANIZATIONS:
Defending the Blue Line
Defending The Blue Line is ensuring that children of military members are afforded every opportunity to participate in the game of hockey. We accomplish this by providing free equipment for military kids, hockey camps, special events, and financial assistance for registration fees and other costs associated with hockey.
For over forty years, our goal at Veterans First has been to honor every brave man or woman who has served this country by helping to restore dignity to those whose sacrifices defending the freedoms we cherish have left them in need. Every person who raises their hand and takes a pledge to defend our country is a hero. Until there are no American heroes sleeping in the streets, in cars or in alleyways, we will be there for them just as they were there for all of us.
