The Ducks will celebrate the upcoming holiday season with a variety of activities highlighted by a visit to CHOC Children’s Hospital on Monday, Dec. 2, as well as toy drives at each Ducks home game in December prior to Christmas.
On Monday, Dec. 2, members of the Anaheim Ducks will visit CHOC Children’s in Orange at approximately 1 p.m. Players will make room-to-room visits and participate in playroom activities in an effort to brighten the season for patients receiving care during the holidays at CHOC. In addition, Ducks players will personally deliver Wild Wingers Kids Club kits to CHOC patients during their visit. CHOC Children’s is located at 1201 West La Veta Ave. in Orange. *Note – This event is closed to the public – therefore a media opportunity only.
Ducks fans are encouraged to support the annual Anaheim Ducks Toy Drive at all December home games prior to the Christmas holiday. The Lady Ducks (wives and significant others of Ducks players, coaches, broadcasters and management) will be collecting toys, books and games (new and unwrapped) to benefit the Spark of Love Toy Drive with the Anaheim Fire Department and ABC7. Each person that donates a gift will receive a raffle ticket to win a 2013-14 team autographed stick at each of the Toy Drive games (limit one raffle ticket per person). Toys will be collected on Dec. 3 vs. Los Angeles, Dec. 9 vs. the New York Islanders, Dec. 11 vs. Minnesota and Dec. 15 vs. Edmonton.
Toys will also be collected at all RINKS locations (Anaheim ICE, Corona Inline, Huntington Beach Inline, Irvine Inline, Lakewood ICE, Westminster ICE and Yorba Linda ICE) and the Anaheim Ducks Team Store Powered by Reebok. Each participating fan (dropping off at any RINKS location or Team Store) will receive a 2-for-1 public skating pass to any RINKS location. In addition, the Ducks will be hosting a Holiday Toy Drive Skate Party featuring Ducks alumni on Wednesday, Dec. 18 at THE RINKS – Anaheim ICE presented by Honda. Additional details on the skating party will be announced at a later date. The Toy Drive will conclude on Friday, Dec. 20 in the Honda Center parking lot as part of the annual ABC7 “Stuff-a-Bus” event.
