As part of this season’s Hockey Fights Cancer initiative, the Anaheim Ducks and The Rinks hosted Hockey Fights Cancer Skate Night on Wednesday, November 19th, at The Rinks-Anaheim ICE to help raise awareness for the Pancreatic Cancer Action Network. Watch the Ducks Weekly feature on Mitch Lane’s inspiring story
From 7-9 pm, Ducks fans enjoyed the evening’s open skate for $10 (including a skate rental) in support of a great cause. All proceeds from the evening’s Skate Night benefit the Pancreatic Cancer Action Network.
The Anaheim Junior Ducks have rallied around this initiative as their program has been personally affected by pancreatic cancer. Mitch Lane, whose son plays for the Junior Ducks coached by Caroline and Todd Marchant, has been fighting his own personal battle with the disease and the evening served as an opportunity for the community join the Ducks, Junior Ducks and the NHL in supporting Mitch in his fight as well as all those who fight against a disease that affects so many.
