As part of our Ducks Summer Q&A series, we're catching up with several players to see how their offseasons are going, their outlooks for this coming season and more. Next up: Ducks defenseman Hampus Lindholm.
Although you're already back in Orange County for the upcoming season, how was your summer in Sweden?
It was really good to be back home in Sweden. I spent time with family and worked out. I did a ton of my workouts there. My body feels pretty good. I'm excited to get going here in a little bit. I've been on the ice at Great Park getting ready for the season. It's fun to be out there skating with guys like Getzy (Ryan Getzlaf) and Manso (Josh Manson).
You recently met up with Swedish soccer star Zlatan Ibrahimović. How was that?
He's a really nice guy. He probably comes off a little cocky on social media, but he's a down-to-Earth family guy. He's always a nice guy to talk to, and someone that a lot of us young Swedish athletes look up to a lot.
Let's talk about the upcoming season. What excites you about it?
We feel we have a good group of guys. I think everyone is excited. We know we can accomplish something here. Now we feel like we have the wind in our sails and a lot of good things can happen with this organization. Lots of good people coming in to help us have success. I'm excited about that.
You also had a chance to meet with head coach Dallas Eakins after his introductory press conference a few months ago. How did that go?
It went really well. He has a lot of great ideas for the organization and the team. For me, as a player, it's going to be an exciting year. I'm really excited to get started.
With the roster you guys have and the renewed sense of excitement and motivation within the team, are you confident you guys can get right back into the playoffs?
Yeah, I definitely think so, if you look at the end of last season and how we finished. We definitely have a good group of guys. It's just going to be the little things to help us go all the way.
