Ducks Sign Ryan Carter

- The Anaheim Ducks announced today that the National Hockey League (NHL) club has signed center Ryan Carter to a two-year, entry-level contract. Per club policy, no financial terms of the deal were disclosed.Carter, 22 (8/3/83), played his sophomore season at Minnesota State-Mankato of the Western Collegiate Hockey Association (WCHA), scoring 19-16=35 points with 71 penalty minutes (PIM) in 39 games last season. The White Bear Lake, Minn., native finished second on the Mavericks in goals and third in points. Carter's 34 goals in his two collegiate seasons were the best two-year total on the team.
In his freshman season of 2004-2005, the 6-1, 205-pounder scored 15-8=23 points in 37 games. Carter earned two hat tricks in his Mavericks career and was twice named the WCHA Rookie of the Week during the 2004-2005 campaign.
