The Ducks have signed left wing Antoine Laganiere
to a one-year contract through the 2014-15 NHL season. Per club policy, financial terms of the deal were not disclosed.
Laganiere, 24 (7/5/90), scored 10-8=18 points with 36 penalty minutes (PIM) in 72 games with Norfolk of the American Hockey League (AHL) last season. Prior to his 2013-14 professional debut, Laganiere helped lead Yale University of the Eastern College Athletic Conference (ECAC) to the 2013 NCAA Division 1 Championship at the Frozen Four Tournament. He concluded his senior season ranked tied for eighth among ECAC leaders in goals, while finishing third on Yale in goals and points, and fourth in assists.
Signed by Anaheim to a two-year entry-level contract on Apr. 16, 2013, Laganiere earned 46-39=85 points with 135 penalty minutes (PIM) in 122 games over four collegiate seasons with Yale. The 6-4, 208-pound winger set ECAC career highs in goals, assists and points in 2011-12, and was named to the All-Ivy Second Team and Academic All-Ivy Team in 2012-13 and the 2010-11 Academic All-ECAC squad during his sophomore season.
