The Ducks have signed left wing Giovanni Fiore to a three-year entry-level contract. Per club policy, financial terms of the deal were not disclosed.

Fiore, 20 (8/13/96), recorded 52-38=90 points with a +36 rating and 42 penalty minutes (PIM) in 61 games with the Cape Breton Screaming Eagles of the Quebec Major Junior Hockey League (QMJHL) in 2016-17. Fiore set career highs in goals, assists, points and plus/minus, while leading Cape Breton with 8-4=12 points in 11 playoff contests. During the regular season, Fiore led the QMJHL in goals, co-led in PPG, ranked tied for fifth in scoring, seventh in plus/minus and tied for seventh in points per game (1.48).
The 6-1, 195-pound winger was one of seven CHL players (QMJHL, WHL and OHL) to score 50 or more goals in 2016-17, which also marked the second 50-goal season in Cape Breton franchise history. Fiore also received QMJHL First All-Star Team honors.
The Laval, Quebec native collected 114-110=224 points with a +45 rating and 153 PIM in 281 career QMJHL games with Cape Breton (2015-17), Shawinigan (2013-16), Drummondville (2012-14) and Acadie-Bathurst (2012-13). He also earned 18-14=32 points in 38 career playoff contests.
